In our experience here at Encompass Chiropractic Centers, many people suffer from knee pain. Whether you suffered a knee injury or you are just getting older, you can turn to us to find relief from the pain in these joints. Our team can provide more comprehensive treatment and relief at each of our three offices, but here are a few home remedies you can try to start feeling the relief you deserve.

- Elevation – One thing you can do to relieve knee pain is to elevate the affected joint. We recommend lying down or sitting with your leg extended, then propping the affected knee up on a pillow. Elevating your painful knee will allow fluid to drain out of the joint, which can reduce swelling and provide relief.
- Cold and Heat – Another way you can reduce knee pain is by first applying a cold compress, such as an ice pack, to the joint. The cold will help reduce inflammation and relieve the pain. After using a cold compress for about 20 minutes, you can switch to a warm compress (heat pack) to improve circulation to the area and relieve stiffness.
- Knee Support – We also recommend using supports, such as braces, to stabilize your affected knee. Knee pain can cause instability in the joint, which can increase the risk of further injuries. Our team can provide the right support for your knee to minimize the risk of new injuries and help your affected knee become stronger and more stable. We can also provide adjustments to help the knee heal effectively.
